New York Parking Garage Keeper Liability Insurance

A business accommodating five or more vehicles for a fee, or other consideration charged directly or indirectly, must have a Garage license (if vehicles are stored in an entirely enclosed space), a Parking Lot license (if vehicles are stored in an unenclosed space), or a Combo Garage and Parking Lot license (if vehicles are stored in both enclosed and unenclosed spaces). Note: Licensees are required to comply with all relevant laws and rules, including the Consumer Protection Law. Parking Garage or Parking Lot - Non-exempt Status Affidavit.

Personal and property liability insurance for the property to be licensed. There must be a clause on the insurance certificate that the Department of Consumer Affairs will be notified if the policy is canceled or if the insured fails to renew thirty (30) days prior to the policy's expiration date. You must submit the original certificate and it must name the Department of Consumer Affairs as the certificate holder.

1. The minimum amount is $325,000 combined single limit, or:
2. $100,000 per person for personal injury,
3. $300,000 per accident for personal injury, and
4. $25,000 per accident for property damage.
